War Eagle!

My name is Kate Preston, and I am humbled and honored to serve as Miss Auburn 2023, the Official Hostess of Auburn University. In serving in this role, I am excited to uphold the standards of character, loyalty, and grace of the Auburn women who have come before me and serve diligently for the women who will follow.

My campaign was based on the line of the creed “I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy for my fellow man and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.” The heart behind my campaign was to unify people all over Auburn’s campus who have different passions, interests, and are a part of multiple generations. I want to encourage people to be authentically themselves, and I aim to encourage the beauty of differences. From well before deciding to attend Auburn, I felt welcomed and at home because of the generosity of the people who were already a part of the Auburn family. Since then, I have been met with the same generosity and love day in and day out. My aim and hope is that I am able to inspire others to find their place as a part of the Auburn family, and to make sure that everyone feels a sense of belonging.

One of my favorite quotes is from former athletic director, David Housel, when he was speaking on what Auburn means to him. “It is a spirit. It is an Attitude. It is a way of looking at life and at one another. It is, almost, a way of living. Unless you have experienced it, you will never know what it is; you will never understand it. Once you have experienced it, you will never be the same. A part of you will, forevermore, be an Auburn man or an Auburn Woman.”

It is my deep honor to get to Auburn home, and I am thrilled to continue the legacy of unity for Auburn.
